I'm Alexander Chin-Lenn, and I'm deeply passionate about workflow improvement and leveraging technology to solve real-world problems.
I've always been interested in tech, but never had a necessity to truly learn it, which came during my service as a signals analyst in the military. Faced with a highly repetitive, manual data-entry task involving thousands of files—a process prone to errors and consuming hours of valuable time—I saw an opportunity. Discovering Python on the system, I quickly developed an MVP that automated information extraction. Within months, I transformed the entire workflow, automating both data ingestion and report generation. This innovation reduced a multi-hour, error-prone task to mere seconds, not only demonstrating the power of automation but also providing me with essential foundational skills in troubleshooting and development.
This experience fueled my continued exploration of technology. I'm now actively diving into Cybersecurity (nearing CPTS certification), building DevOps homelabs with Terraform and Ansible, deploying serverless applications to the cloud, and continually expanding my proficiency in various programming languages. I thrive on challenges and am always eager to learn what's needed to tackle the next problem.

Highly proficient in Python, with working knowledge of Go, JavaScript, and Zig. I’ve developed mission-critical software that has remained in operational use for over five years—eliminating the manual burden of mission ingestion and completion. I’ve automated historical data retrieval for pattern-of-life analysis, used data science techniques to cluster key locations, and generated automated reports for over 3,500 active sites. I also built a custom invoice-processing system for an animal shelter, resolving a five-year backlog and streamlining their entire workflow.
This site was provisioned with Terraform on AWS, integrating services like S3, CloudFront, DynamoDB, and API Gateway—delivering a performant, serverless architecture behind HTTPS. I’ve also built a full Cybersecurity homelab using Terraform and Ansible, which is showcased in the Projects section.
I built a fully automated CI/CD pipeline for my invoice parser that runs tests, deploys on successful merges, and serves the app via Google Cloud Run. This website, along with my technical blog hosted on GitHub Pages, uses GitHub Actions for continuous integration and deployment—demonstrating hands-on experience with modern development lifecycles.
Certified in CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cloud+, and Project+, along with the Linux Professional Institute’s LPIC-1 and the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. Currently pursuing HackTheBox’s CPTS to further solidify my offensive security skillset.
